Support beyond your autism assessment
Assessments with feedback, detailed recommendations and local & national support services.
As part of the assessment process, we will have a feedback session where we go through the results of the assessment. Detailed recommendations will be provided which include strategies that will be useful going forward and you will be signposted to local and national support services. We then produce a report which includes the details of the assessment and is yours to share with whoever you like.
For parents and carers of children being assessed, you will also have lifetime access to a 16 session online course (15 sessions for parents, 1 session for siblings). This course is a neuroaffirming approach which helps parents to understand autism and adapt their parenting to best meet your child’s needs and help them thrive.
We are happy to help you with any letter of support you need (e.g. schools, universities, benefit support) at any time in the future for no additional cost.
Follow up psychoeducation session & four live group sessions.
In addition, there is the opportunity to meet with Iris Varela who offers a onetime follow-up psychoeducation session. This personalised session is a safe space to anticipate and discuss any difficulties you or your loved one may experience and how to navigate them.
The session costs £125 and offers the following:
- A personalised formulation to help support your mental wellbeing going forward
- Practical information on how autism may present to you or your child
- Understanding masking and how to prevent burnout
Parents of children assessed at SAA will also have access to Reframe and Regulate OTMcAlpine - Occupational Therapist which is four live group sessions delivering weekly content. The group aims to provide lots of practical day to day strategies to support relationships and family function.
